Rorate has posted an article by Sandro Magister that details that changes and rumoured changes in the curia as well as some cultural issues.

The culture of an organization is set by leader, by what he says, does and more importantly what he tolerates and what he does not tolerate.

There is no tolerance in Francis' Church for cultural assumptions that stand in their way (as well as those who hold them).

We'll see how this will turn out in the Synod.  Louie Verrecchio has done some recon here.

Rorate has just posted an article that indicates that the Pope is 'irritated' with a book to which Cardinal Burke contributed.  Oddly enough it is one that supports the Catholic Doctrine on Marriage.

If the Pope and the liberal supporters are true to their cultural assumptions then there will be a purge of all authors who oppose their agenda. One blogger mentioned the night of the long knives scenario, which probably isn't too far off the mark.

One thing for certain, the cultural fault-lines are becoming clearer with each passing day. They also, of course, delineate the doctrinal fault-lines.

Lifesitenews (h/t Tantumblogo ) has published a report confirming the demotion.

Sources in Rome have confirmed to LifeSiteNews that Cardinal Raymond Burke, the head of the Vatican’s highest court, known as the Apostolic Signatura, is to be removed from his post as head of the Vatican dicastery and given a non-curial assignment as patron of the Order of Malta.

The fault-lines are becoming clearer by the minute.

Thoughts on: Finding Common Ground Between Rome and the SSPX

The News is an Addiction ...

 + JMJ People seem to be mesmerised by train wrecks.   They just can't turn away as the disaster creeps forward along train tracks towards the crossing where a car, truck, bus, trailer awaits its destruction. Trads have been watching the train wreck that is this crisis of the Catholic Church for decades. The trade war between the Canada and the US has reminded me that the news is addictive.   The first time I was addicted what from 2009 to  2014 when I was closely following the Rome / SSPX discussions.  I was at work watching a live-stream as Bishop Fellay disappeared into the Vatican. The lead-up to this moment had been intense as the 'resistance' got freaked out and the cultural cracks between doctrine and conspiracy theory widened. Thoughts on the Thoughts of a former SSPX priest

They are not in danger of entering a state of schism, for they are  already  in a state of schism. I believe he doth protest too much. All the actual facts indicate that the SSPX was not in a state of schism before July 1st and an examination of the decree of excommunication highlights the either ineptitude of those in charge or a desire to leave the barn door open.
