A List of Articles with Tradicat's Quick Comments

+ JMJ I've been saving these articles for the opportunity to make some form of comment (just to get it out of my head).  There were more but I culled the list beforehand. These are quick comments so if it causes someone pain - assume the best of me and move on :-). P^3   BrainWashing I haven't read all of these but had them on my list - I may review later but wanted to include them because brainwashing is different from teaching.   Beyond ‘Indoctrination’ and ‘Brainwashing’: Understanding the Transmission of Extreme Beliefs - Leiden Security and Global Affairs Blog Brainwashing - Wikipedia Brainwash vs Indoctrinate - What's the difference? | WikiDiff The Art of Brainwashing | Psychology Today Canada   Baptism I was at a meeting where a Catholic Diocesan Priest claimed that the exorcisms remain in the modern ritual of baptism.  A quick review of the current and previous rites makes it obvious that what is presented as an "exorcism", is actually just a na

What The Hell As Long As We Get To Heaven!!!

+ JMJ What the Hell as long as we get to Heaven!!! These words were spoken by a seasoned Traditional Catholic who has passed on to his reward.  There's a lot of wisdom in these words.  Our goals are stated in the Catechism quite clearly:   Q. Why did God make you? A. God made me to know Him, to love Him, and to serve Him in this world, and to be happy with Him forever in heaven. In an earlier article I wrote an article on how to apply strategic planning to leading a Catholic Life.  I used a simply hierarchical diagram to try to explain the concept:       ... here's what I wrote in October 2022: Simply put, the Vision (desired future state) for all Catholics is to "Be Happy with God in the Next Life".  Our Mission (purpose) is to save our souls and to achieve that, we need to accomplish the goals of knowing, loving and serving God in this life. Whatever means (objectives) we take to achieve the goals, they all converge on the mission and vision.  The cri

SSPX: Ten Years Of Pope Francis

+ JMJ   The Angelus Magazine is an excellent resource in these dizzying times as Pope Francis keeps spinning the merry-go-round. Try and  keep your balance! P^2   Courtesy of SSPX.org     At the beginning of his pontificate, during the World Youth Day on Copacabana Beach in 2013, Pope Francis exhorted the youth to “¡Hagan lio!” or “Make a mess!” Dear Reader, In the ten years since that event, the Pope himself has caused a staggering amount of chaos in the Church by seemingly ignoring its doctrinal and moral patrimony. Consider his disturbing interviews with atheist Eugenio Scalfari, the implicit permission for the divorced and remarried to receive Holy Communion found in Amoris Laetitia , paying homage to the rites of the Amazonians towards their Pachamama idol, changing the catechism to reverse the Church’s constant teaching on the death penalty, destroying the flourishing order of the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate, inviting globalists to the Vatican to talk about

A Collection of Articles that Reflect the Signs of the Times ... and They Aren't Changing ... Yet!

+ JMJ So ... Catholics (non-SSPX) are being tainted by remote-association with Catholics (SSPX). The only substantial difference is that they have taken longer to come to the realization that driving with a blind-fold on results in a car crash.  So Catholics who love the True Mass are now faced with the same dilemma as the Archbishop faced in 1976, except that for Lefebvre it was no dilemma and he saw his Catholic duty as a bishop quite plainly. I can see that there is much anxiety around the statements of Cardinal Roche but perhaps contemplating disobedience is a big thing to ask from priests and faithful for whom the idea of breaking with Rome goes completely against the grain. For so long many, but not all, have criticised SSPX for their ‘schism’ or ‘disobedience’ but now they themselves will have to make the fateful choice. I remember when my wife and I went to our first ‘disobedient’ Mass with SSPX in Bath. The hostility from our family, friends and other Catholics in our former

He and I: December 5, 1946

+ JMJ   Come very close to Me in the garden of My agony where My sweat is like drops of blood. You understand? I'll be less alone ... The others are sleeping. No one is here. Except My mother who is thinking about Me. They are sleeping. This is the picture of those whose life is one long sleep where I'm concerned. Indifference. Distraction. Forgetfulness. How sad for them!  Even among My friends, a little more fervour would keep them awake. (He and I) Humans can travel through time to the past. Reach back to your thoughts to Our Lord Jesus Christ in His Passion and you can console him.  Could you not watch one hour with him?  A Holy Hour can be done anywhere. P^3

Murder and Mayhem: Ministers of Euthanasia

+ JMJ    I'm still overloaded, but there are a few events, incidents and thoughts that bear some consideration. Euthanasia in Canada In Canada euthanasia is called "Medical Assistance In Dying".   While the 'slippery slope' argument is regarded as a fallacy ( Wiki Article link ), the deletion of a principle was foreseen to enable a much wider application of the 'service'.  Plus there was the example of other countries.   An SSPX priest told me that in the Netherlands they were called to give the last rites to an elderly grandmother.  The priest arrived and there was a party going on and the Grandmother was in no distress. A family member explained that she was going to die the next day and this was her farewell party. The contradiction was obvious to the priest. In Canada, there are no abortion laws as they were struck down decades ago.  The result is medical abortion (the technical term to exclude spontaneous abortion which is commonly called a miscarria
