+ JMJ When confronted with a harsh reality of a bad Pope, there is a temptation to look for an easy way out. Cue the alleged prophecy of St. Francis concerning a un-canonically elected Pope. I know a resistance blogger who, after posting a version of the prophecy, wrote: Is not this prophecy so indicative of the current state of the Church?  It is so sad that the “elect” of the Catholic Resistance holds Jorge Bergoglio as pope thereby keeping priests and faithful in a material schism.  May their blindness be removed and may they come to the truth that Benedict XVI is the true pope. He (plus others) have jumped to a number of conclusions.  First, they have concluded that it is a true prophecy. Second they have concluded that it applies to Pope Francis. Second first, we know that in the conclusion that Pope Francis was not canonically elected the Vicar of Christ, we have to set aside Catholic Doctrine - just like the protestants. + JMJ Back in September a report surfaced that Cardinal Burke was going to be demoted. Now we have confirmation from Rorate: Link . One classical mistake that the Pope has made is to surround himself with like minded people (read: Gang of Eight). This will lead to group think and I'm afraid that (assuming good intentions) very bad decisions will be made. The demotion of Cardinal Burke is, in my mind, one such mistake. P^3

+ JMJ Rorate has posted an article by Sandro Magister that details that changes and rumoured changes in the curia as well as some cultural issues. The culture of an organization is set by leader, by what he says, does and more importantly what he tolerates and what he does not tolerate. There is no tolerance in Francis' Church for cultural assumptions that stand in their way (as well as those who hold them). We'll see how this will turn out in the Synod.  Louie Verrecchio has done some recon here . As always!!! + JMJ The Remnant blog brought to my attention the Pope's Ten Secret's to Happiness as reported by CNS . I will admit that at first I thought it was a joke paraphrasing the various utterances of Pope Francis. Sadly, it is not a joke, nor is it a laughing matter.
