As expected Cdl. Kasper is trying to maneuver out from under the rock he dropped on his head (see Rorate or CMR).

This has always been Cardinal Kasper's Achilles heel. He likes to talk about his plans and manipulate people into agreeing with his 'genius'. However, when people don't agree with his viewpoint, the veneer wears off in the thin spots.

In this manner he is predictable.

Ask the right questions and especially if he gets flustered, he'll give up some useful information.

However, in any dealing with Cardinal Kasper or prelates of similar ilk, ensure that your SMB (save my butt) equipment is firmly in place. In the case of Mr. Pentin, he had his recording, a recording that is now worth its weight in gold.

What the heck is a congregation of "Pontifical Right"

+ JMJ In a discussion with a friend the question occurred to me that I didn't actually know was is involved in being a religious order of 'pontifical right'. I had a vague notion that this meant they reported to Rome as opposed to the local diocese. I'm also aware that, according to the accounts I have heard, the Archbishop received 'praise' and the written direction to incardinate priests directly into the SSPX. This is interesting because it implies that the SSPX priests were no longer required to incardinate in the local diocese but in the SSPX. + JMJ Do Jews and Muslims worship the same God as the Catholics? This question is raised often in the context of the statements made in the Second Vatican Council concerning these two religions. Namely: In the first place amongst these there are the Muslims, who, professing to hold the faith of Abraham, along with us adore the one and merciful God, who on the last day will judge mankind.( Lumen Gentium 16) The Church regards with esteem also the Moslems. + JMJ Along the theme of P^3 (Prayer, Penance, Patience), and for my own reference ... here is a collection of Morning and Evening prayers from the Ideal Daily Missal along with some additional prayers. In this crisis of the Church, I do not think it is possible to do too much prayer, penance and have patience. P^3

A Reply to Martin Blackshaw’s FLAWED Remnant article titled: FLAWED: SSPX Advice on Abortion-tainted Vaccines

+ JMJ An article has appeared in the Remnant (link to article) and I am afraid that there are a number of flaws in it that need to be addressed. The author, Martin Blackshaw, believes that both the Church and the SSPX are misapplying the principle of Moral Theology called 'Cooperation In Evil'. Unfortunately, Mr. Blackshaw rests most of his arguments on citing authors that support his position, without considering the possibility that they are wrong. This highlights a key factor in this crisis: ignorance of the faith and its application . I don't am not singling out Mr. Blackshaw for this criticism, I have observed that it applies to laity and religious, superior and subject a like. No one seems immune in this enduring crisis, myself included. I further believe that this ignorance is why so many Catholics, both traditional and non, rely on their gut feeling or "Catholic conscience" for charting their way through this crisis of the faith.
