CMTV: Vomitous Mass and Projections

CMTV's campaign has so far provided material for at least a dozen articles on various fallacies and poor reporting. Frankly, I enjoyed the Kasas City Star article because it was devoid of Mr. Voris' skewed hatred of the SSPX (see below):

To the point of believing themselves being the saviors of the Church, the group routinely recruits future supporters — influencers in the media or money circles — playing up the current crisis in the actual Church as a reason to jump ship and join them. ... You are not the "saviors of the Church" — and certainly not as you continue to protect child molesters.

In other articles he accuses the SSPX faithful of thinking that they are elite Catholics etc, looking down on modern Catholics etc.

Looking through his accusations with the 'projection' lense, it would appear that there is a distinct possibility that Mr. Voris' crusade against the SSPX is grounded on the belief that HE is an elite Catholic, better that other Catholics who simply want to save their souls and have taken refuge with the SSPX.

He interestingly goes on the tell SSPX supporters to stop giving them money ... I suspect that he would prefer they support his little campaign.

Really is this about the money or is it about the truth.

When I have a chance to digest this vomitous mass of writing, I will expose in a Vortex the assumptions and biases that drive Voris et al to become a whirling dervish.

Stories: Early Days of Tradition Part 10 - The Struggle Within

+ JMJ Immediately after the council (i.e. Second Vatican Council) things changed in Catholic Church around the world. Some of the Veteran Trads gave a good fight in those early years. In this story, three friends in Quebec agreed that what they were hearing from the pulpit reeked of heresy. After a while, they decided that it was time to take some action. What is Tradition?

+ JMJ What Is Tradition? The basic premise, from my perspective, is that what was taught before cannot be contradicted by the 'present' magisterium, only deepened and expanded upon. I recall the Roman theologians called the SSPX protestants while the SSPX called them modernists. I believe this was all surrounding the concept of Traditon. SSPX's Understanding of Tradition One accusation made against the SSPX is that they don't have a correct understanding of 'Tradition'. + JMJ With all the mis-information about the SSPX rejecting the Second Vatican Council, I thought it would be useful to publish an article that focuses on the real issues that the SSPX has identified. + JMJ People seem to be mesmerised by train wrecks. They just can't turn away as the disaster creeps forward along train tracks towards the crossing where a car, truck, bus, trailer awaits its destruction. Trads have been watching the train wreck that is this crisis of the Catholic Church for decades. The trade war between the Canada and the US has reminded me that the news is addictive. The first time I was addicted what from 2009 to 2014 when I was closely following the Rome / SSPX discussions. I was at work watching a live-stream as Bishop Fellay disappeared into the Vatican. The lead-up to this moment had been intense as the 'resistance' got freaked out and the cultural cracks between doctrine and conspiracy theory widened. They are not in danger of entering a state of schism, for they are already in a state of schism. I believe he doth protest too much. All the actual facts indicate that the SSPX was not in a state of schism before July 1st and an examination of the decree of excommunication highlights the either ineptitude of those in charge or a desire to leave the barn door open.
