Whereas the discussion on Justice focused on the relations with others, the virtue of temperance pertain to our self-discipline and self-control.
Whereas the discussion on Justice focused on the relations with others, the virtue of temperance pertain to our self-discipline and self-control.
This is an easier topic since most of the symptoms are easily observable.
In short, does the prospect demonstrate temperance in their habits (food, alchohol, smoking, physical displays of affection). Are they seeking to improve (with out prompting from you)?
Do they exert self-control over their emotions as noted in the annexed virtues?
Two key areas to look at are alcohol, smoking (tobacco).
Any use of marijuana should be an automatic disqualification for at least the following reasons:

Do they exert self-control over their emotions as noted in the annexed virtues?

- Causes mental illness in some users later in life.
- Creates temporary psychosis.
- Gateway to other drugs.
- Unlike alcohol, one puff and you've set the brain chemicals off balance.
