I wouldn't read too much into this as being an approval of the phenomenon happening at Medjugorje. 

However, it is yet another brick that makes up the facade of this crisis.

Still waiting for someone to start dismantling the facade.

POPE FRANCIS ALLOWS PIGRIMAGES TO MEDJUGORJE
From Holy See Press Office:
“As announced jointly this morning by Msgr. Henryk Hoser, Apostolic Visitor of a special character for the parish of Medjugorje and from the Apostolic Nunciature in Sarajevo, the Holy Father ordered that it be possible to organize pilgrimages to Medjugorje.
This (to be done) always taking care to avoid that these pilgrimages are interpreted as an authentication of the known events, which still require an examination by the Church. It must therefore be avoided that such pilgrimages create confusion or ambiguity under the doctrinal aspect. This also concerns pastors of every order and degree who intend to go to Medjugorje and celebrate or concelebrate there also in a solemn manner.
Given the considerable flow of people who go to Medjugorje and the abundant fruits of grace that flow from it, this provision is part of the particular pastoral attention that the Holy Father intended to give to that reality, aimed at favoring and promoting the fruits of good.
In this way, the Apostolic Visitor will have greater ease in establishing – in agreement with the Ordinaries of the places – relations with the priests charged with organizing pilgrimages to Medjugorje, as safe and well-prepared persons, offering them information and indications to be able to lead fruitfully such pilgrimages.”

 + JMJ With all the mis-information about the SSPX rejecting the Second Vatican Council, I thought it would be useful to publish an article that focuses on the real issues that the SSPX has identified. Thoughts on: Finding Common Ground Between Rome and the SSPX

The News is an Addiction ...

 + JMJ People seem to be mesmerised by train wrecks.   They just can't turn away as the disaster creeps forward along train tracks towards the crossing where a car, truck, bus, trailer awaits its destruction. Trads have been watching the train wreck that is this crisis of the Catholic Church for decades. The trade war between the Canada and the US has reminded me that the news is addictive.   The first time I was addicted what from 2009 to  2014 when I was closely following the Rome / SSPX discussions.  I was at work watching a live-stream as Bishop Fellay disappeared into the Vatican. The lead-up to this moment had been intense as the 'resistance' got freaked out and the cultural cracks between doctrine and conspiracy theory widened. In the decade since then other things have emerged, wars, rumours of wars, conspiracies, celebrity Catholics etc. Now we have a new addiction and its name is Trump. Thoughts on the Thoughts of a former SSPX priest

 + JMJ Well Gary Campbell, former SSPX Priest and now laicised has posted a new article on WherePeterIs. https://wherepeteris.com/thoughts-of-a-former-sspx-priest-on-the-july-1-consecrations/ These words stuck out: Heck, they have built a five-star hotel, wine bar, and Walmart on the opposite bank of the Rubicon! They are not in danger of entering a state of schism, for they are  already  in a state of schism. I believe he doth protest too much. All the actual facts indicate that the SSPX was not in a state of schism before July 1st and an examination of the decree of excommunication highlights the either ineptitude of those in charge or a desire to leave the barn door open. The chasm between an act of disobedience and act of schism remains just what is has always been - an inconvenient barrier that person(s) in Rome seek to bridge but appear incapable of succeeding.
