COVID-19 Vaccines, Aborted Baby Cell-Lines and Catholic Moral Theology - Part D: Causal Relationships
Over the last couple of weeks I've been reviewing the chain of events / actions that have brought us to the imminent decision to accept or reject being innoculated with a COVID-19 vaccine.
Why imminent?
A number of vaccines are now in phase 3 clinical trials, which means that they are slowly but surely edging towards approval.

From my review and thoughts, aside from the initial act of murder, there is nothing wrong with the other acts. Ick factor aside, if the cells had been obtained from a late term miscarriage or a accidental death, there would be no moral issues.
So this explains why this is a muddy issue - because the acts, while causally related, are not related by intention. The scientists may have benefited from the perpetration of the immoral act, but they had (as far as I can tell) nothing to do with the abortions.

This leads to the next issue - are we cooperating in evil by being inoculated with the vaccine? Is it morally ok to do so?
The Vatican document indicates that the answer is yes, with some caveats. More on that later.
