The Synod is Irrelevant

The synod is simply a meeting of invited bishops to provide their thoughts and opinions to the pope

Unlike the Second Vatican Council, it has no magisterial authority.  Period. (SSPX: How much authority does a Synod have?)

All these synods do is provide a venue for prelates to proclaim their orthodoxy or lack thereof.

It simply is an opportunity for the chasm between the good and the bad to be clearer.

For the fence sitters like the neo cats ,including cmtv et all,  they will be inexorably confronted with any inconsistencies in their principles.


As will we all.

For traditional Catholics this synod is just a rerun of the second Vatican council and all the missed teaching opportunities in the intervening decades.

The separating of the wheat from the chaff is a good thing.

So we can dispense with any hand wringing ( the ain't it awful syndrome ) and marvel at the power of God to keep the Church in existence with such human leaders as these.

The Church, taking the analogy of Pope Francis to its logical conclusion, is a field hospital on the field of battle that has been over run by the enemy.  All that we await is for the king and his generals to rally the troops. Note 1

Keep Catholic Dogmas, Doctrine and Principles and work out your salvation in fear and trembling as we see the "mighty" of the Church fall.

The Church is actually the Mystical Body of Christ and the Kingdom of God.  Just in case there was any doubt.

It stands to reason that bad principles will lead to bad decisions. + JMJ A reader asked the following question in the 2015 version of the article on the Dogmas of the Catholic Faith (link) : 117: "In the state of fallen nature it is morally impossible for man without Supernatural Revelation, to know easily, with absolute certainty and without admixture of error, all religious and moral truths of the natural order."
