+ JMJ Do Catholics have a reason to be concerned about this Synod?  Given that we hear that the proceedings will be kept secret etc - the answer is yep. The build up of expectations to the Synod has reached a fever pitch.  Itching ears want to know what happens, on all sides of this multi-faceted fiascoe in the making. They won't be 'satisfied' - or so the rumours go, which will only increase their curiousity and expectations. Of course, I do expect Cardinal Kasper to leak like a sieve if he can interpret the conclusions as being supportive of his warped (re: heretical) theories. P^3 Courtesy of Remnant

It has fomented unfounded accusations against the Society of Saint Pius X. It would be illusory to expect anything different in the actual climate of decadence of the Church and of once-Catholic societies. Nevertheless, an exception was had with the "Murray Thesis", sanctioned by the Pontifical Gregorian University which does justice to the distorted charges against the Society. We will attempt to analyze the essential nucleus of it, just as it appeared in the summary of The Latin Mass Magazine (see "Gaps in the New Code?," Fall 1995).

+ JMJ I suspect that as the date of the Synod approaches the noise floor will like wise become elevated with lots of chatter.  This will make it more difficult to discern a 'signal' from the 'noise'. One clear signal is Rorate-Caeli and they again have an excellent article from Roberto de Mattei. I recommend keeping an eye on Rorate's site for pertinent doctrinally base assessments. P^3
