Yves Normandin February/18th/1925 - December/30th/2020.   Update 2: SSPX Canada has published the following ( Courtesy of SSPX.ca ):  Defender of Tradition, Fr Yves Normandin, died peacefully today. On this Wednesday, December 30th, in the Octave of the Nativity, Father Yves Normandin died fortified with the sacraments of the Church.  Ordained in 1953, Father Normandin was removed from his post of parish priest in 1975 because of his refusal to celebrate the New Mass of Paul VI.  Afterwards, he criss-crossed Canada offering the Mass of all time.  The details of his funeral arrangements will be published soon.  Requiescat in pace.     Update: Vox Cantoris has some additional information on Fr.  + JMJ   This is a good video providing a good balanced perspective (lacking in both the ultra-conservative and ultra-liberal sources).  Protective effective masking may not just determine the success or failure of SARS Cov-2 transmission but it may also determine the severity of Covid-19 in the case of successful transmission.  P^3

I hear that the "cookies & cream" diet is a popular one.  This year, I wish to ask you multiple things: First, is "Santa"  just your superhero identity?  + JMJ  While this has been a different year, it has still been a blessed year from a Catholic perspective.  Any trial sent by God is a trial to be borne in patience and gratitude to God for the opportunity to imitate Our Lord Jesus Christ.  + JMJ    So it is clear that taking the COVID-19 vaccines - even those morally tainted - is permissible according to Catholic Teaching. The question that remains for me is one of risk vs benefit.  + JMJ  The SSPX has posted an excellent article summarizing the moral theology surrounding the development and use of morally tainted vaccines. In other words, vaccines that, in some manner, profit from a historical abortion. I'm happy to see that we (Vatican, SSPX, & myself) come to the same conclusion. This validation is good because it shows that rejection of what comes from the Vatican has to be done after a proper reflection on the underlying principles. Here we have an example of the Vatican following Catholic principles and coming to the correct conclusion.  One that, I suspect, many traditional Catholics will be tempted to out of hand to reject, and in doing so reject the truth making life harder than is morally necessary.
