Return to Fatima: Tradidi quod et accepi

+ JMJ Thirty-two years ago today Archbishop Lefebvre and Bishop Castro de Mayer consecrated four bishops. Return to Fatima has a good article here. One excerpt among the many that could be done: Those who condemn us, try to accuse us of not being faithful to the “living” Tradition. I hope the above reflections show that the true faithful to the Living Tradition are those who keep it and live it, without adulterating it with the spirit of the world. This is the very meaning of the word “faithful,” i.e., the one who keeps the Faith! Not the one who changes it! Liberal principles, which the Popes have repeatedly condemned, shall never be able to become a part of the Catholic Faith. In a time when so many have tried to marry the Church and the Revolution, it is urgent to keep Tradition, and to provide for its continuation. Therefore, according to the very principles of Canon Law, in cases of real emergency, there can be no sanction. Any sanction is unjust, since its motive is to...

CMTV and the Thomas More / SSPX Victory

+ JMJ I was wondering if CMTV would have the honesty to post an article about the latest victory. So ... I tried looking at the cache first ... but that didn't work so I clicked on the link and guess what... this is what I found: So I went and searched on their site using their google interface and here's the correct link . I scanned the article and found that this is the mention of the plaintiffs and I noticed that CMTV, instead of linking the highlighted words to the SSPX website, they linked it to one of their spotlight article "sympathetic to perverts". The plaintiffs included two priests of the Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX)   — Steven Soos and Nicholas Stamos — and three Orthodox Jewish congregants — Elchanan Perr, Daniel Schonborn, and Mayer Mayerfeld. Well, I guess it is safe to say that it is pathetic that CMTV is not even able to acknowledge that the SSPX does some good. For reference here's the SSPX perspective.  More can be fo...

Humour: Church Militant vs SSPX - Caption Generator

+ JMJ Here's something that came up in my regular SSPX news search. The habit of  doing regular searches started when things were moving between the SSPX and Rome. Hence the reason whey there is a sspx search link in the side bar. Here's a good video to watch. Enjoy! P^3

Opportunities Hide Inside Crises

+ JMJ A crisis (from the Greek κρίσις - krisis; [1] plural: "crises"; adjectival form : " critical ") is any event that is going (or is expected) to lead to an unstable and dangerous situation affecting an individual , group , community , or whole society . Crises are deemed to be negative changes in the security , economic , political , societal , or environmental affairs , especially when they occur abruptly,  with little or no warning . More loosely, it is a term meaning "a testing time" or an " emergency event". ( Wikipedia ) While thousands will be sick and die, in the face of eternity we need to be more concerned about the crisis that darkens souls with sin.  In other words, we need to fear more the one who can 'kill' the soul, than the body. We each have an obligation to work for the salvation of souls based on their relationship with us. The closer the relationship the stronger the obligation.  Obviously, it starts with ou...

Thinking about my conversations with 'resistors'

+ JMJ Wikipedia "I don't trust them"   Words spoken by a 'resistor' to me at the height of the discussions with Rome, close to eight years ago. I just realized that for many of the people; including resistors, modern Catholic and sede-Vacantists; the crisis of the Church is emotionally dominated. The thought that their concept of the crisis of the Catholic Church is at least skewed if not completely falsecauses them to react through fear ... and in some cases irrationally. Basically, they 'have' to be right ... otherwise their world-view comes crashing around them. Just like "Catholicam's" response that I discussed in 2014 in this article : That is liberal ecumenist hogwash, straight from Vatican II. ...This is an entire waste of time. When I revealed the source (pre-dating V2 by decades) ... his reply: I told you, I am through discussing this with you. It is an entirely fruitless effort, and a waste of time. I'm not certain how ...

CMTV: Scraping the Bottom of the Barrel

+ JMJ So ... CMTV has posted another 'victim' story. What is interesting is how the story was transformed as it made its way from Facebook to CMTV hallowed webpage. Things that were lost in translation: FROM: I was a girl with nowhere to go, a girl who felt lost and without guidance, a girl who struggled at the time with alcohol problems. TO: I was a girl with nowhere to go, a girl who felt lost and without guidance, and who struggled at the time with addiction problems. So ... I guess that perhaps there was more to her problems than just alcohol since they edited it to read as 'addiction' problems.  There are a few other changes, such as when the priest was transferred to they changed the name of the country. Perhaps there was more involved as in: I grew up in a small town, a town outwardly but hypocritically devoted to Catholic ideals and traditions. It's a town that as someone who wore pants and smoked pot and drank a lot, I didn't fit into. I'm n...

CMTV: Are Sarah Gonzalez' Stories Credible?

+ JMJ I have already discussed the issues with the Gonzalez story and something has popped up in twitter that further undermines its credibility: A 38-year-old woman who hosted parties for teens — supplying them drugs and alcohol — at her Westwood house has been sentenced to more than two years in prison. ... Sarah Maria Gonzalez was sentenced Wednesday in Johnson County District Court where she pleaded guilty in May to endangering the welfare of a child and distribution of marijuana and hallucinogenic mushrooms. d more here: https://www.kansascity.com/news/local/crime/article103396427.html#storylink=cpy Link to Kansas City Start Article So, Sarah Maria Gonzalez is not exactly what I would call a credible witness in that she herself was found guilty of supplying teens with drugs and alcohol. To confirm this I looked her up on KASPER .  If you enter Sarah Maria Gonzalez you will get confirmation.  To speed your search, here's the docket number: GONZALEZ, SARAH M   ...

Is CMTV Trustworthy?

+ JMJ Catholics are angry at being betrayed. Church Militant provides trustworthy and independent coverage to help you be the best Catholic you can be. This is from their twitter feed and after their latest campaign are they really providing trustworthy coverage?  I have to admit that I really hadn't thought about this question until they started to investigating people that I knew. Now that the 'cat is out of the bag', I actually have to consider whether or not all of their accusations about various personages actually hold water.  Obviously, McCarrick is true, but what about their hate on for Cardinal Dolan? Following Catholic Principles does require work, but it is worth it! P^3

CMTV: The Gonzalez Story Something Doesn't Add Up!

+ JMJ By Rept0n1x - Own work , CC BY-SA 3.0 , Link So the CMTV has gone back to the Michael Gonzalez wishing well.  Still hoping for something to stick. The Gonzalez story is a sad one, but it is important to know the difference between what we know and what we believe. After reading Sarah's story, I know what she claims, I do disbelieve them ... I don't find them credible. Why? Because there are a number of contradictions and incredulous statements made and when compared with other statements more contradictions start to emerge. It is very hard to keep a story consistent when it isn't based on directly observed events.  It is even harder to keep it together when it is simply stories (perhaps lies) related over the decades. It becomes practically impossible to maintain consistency when a number of people start trying to protect their perspective of reality, a perspective that may warped. I did some fact checking of this latest story I now know that a Mario Gonzal...

The Failure of the CMTV Campaign

+ JMJ The CMTV campaign against the SSPX (ie: Not for the victims) is winding down and I think it is time to do a stock take. I originally was going to review the articles, but the volume of FUD and UFFI* makes this a fruitless task - so I'm going to sum up my conclusions. First, there are actual cases of abuse (neither creepy nor possibly inappropriate behavior qualifies) that have already been addressed in various ways over the years .   I would be surprised if there are not active cases that the SSPX is examining.  That's why they have instituted the P2P program, to be proactive.  I have been involved in the development of early versions of the program and in my opinion it is a good program. Further, I'm happy to see it being implemented in the USA. In addition, to my knowledge Fr. Angles was not involved in the early development of the program. Second, instead of promoting them, those listed and actually guilty of abuse are, to the best of my knowledge, no long...
