Good Friday

+ JMJ Remember that it is as if all your sins caused this to happen because, even if you were the only one who would be saved, Our Lord Jesus Christ would still have sacrificed Himself. He loves us that much individually! P^3

Maundy Thursday

Update on "HAS THE SSPX CANADA IMPLICITLY ADMITS STATE OF NECESSITY NO LONGER EXISTS? ... NOPE!"

+ JMJ The Groom pictured in the previous article has written an open letter providing the full context of the event.  The pdf version is available here, and for convenience, I have copied the text to this post. This first hand information provided much of the missing context! May God Bless them! P^3 A clarification on my wedding Ottawa, ON March 26th 2018 Greetings. I, Nicolas Lessard, got married to Monica Green on the 10th of February 2018, in the Roman Catholic Church of Saint Augustine of Canterbury in Brandon, Manitoba. Both my wife and I are faithful of the Society of Saint Pius X. The host priest, Father Kelly received our vows, and Father Vachon, of the SSPX celebrated our wedding mass. Following the wedding, there has been a lot of buzz about the circumstances of the wedding in the context of the relationship between Rome and the Society. This letter intends to address this “controversy”. The first point I would like to make is that the controversy ...

Has the SSPX Canada Implicitly Admits State of Necessity No Longer Exists? ... Nope!

+ JMJ A wedding that took place in Brandon has caught the attention of Ecclesia Militans, a Canadian Resistance website run by a layman who is aligned with Fr. Joseph Pfeiffer.  The story has being picked up by Cathinfo (US Resistance website run by a layman who is aligned with Bishop Williamson), Fr. Girouard (aligned with himself) as well as Traditio (Sedevacantist???). I guess it was a slow news day for them in their search from something that appears to be a compromise. Here's Ecclesia Militans indepth and erudite analysis of the event: St. Raphael’s Priory of the SSPX in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada has published its March 2018 Bulletin in which there is a picture of a married couple standing beside a Novus Ordo priest and Fr. Richard Vachon, SSPX.  It seems that the couple were married by the Novus Ordo priest in his parish and Fr. Vachon celebrated the Traditional Mass afterwards.  By this act, the SSPX Canadian District has implicitly admitted tha...

Interview: Bishop Bernard Fellay on The Fatima Centenary & Church Crisis - FSSPX.news

+ JMJ As I read about the disastrous events that are unfolding in the Catholic Church, it is refreshing to see the SSPX continuing down the narrow path chosen by Archbishop Lefebvre. P^3 Courtesy of FSSPX.news Editor’s note: the questions in the following interview were first sent to Bishop Fellay near the close of 2017, but due to various obstacles, the interview could only be completed this month. Nevertheless, we have retained the references to the end of the centenary year of Fatima as contained in the original text of the questions. We are grateful to His Excellency for providing us with this opportunity to discuss the importance of Fatima in our present day. Maike Hickson (MH): The Centenary of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima is coming soon to an end. What is your assessment about how the Catholic Church has thus far celebrated it; and also about how the message of Fatima was actually presented to us at various mainstream Catholic events? What, if an...

Canons of St. John Cantius

+ JMJ It has been reported that the head of the Canons of St. John Cantius has been accused of immoral actions and removed from his office. My thoughts: People's gut reactions that this is a targeted character assassination by a liberal Cardinal are not entirely unwarranted. However ... It wouldn't be the first time that a priest who was attached to a traditional order fell into "that" sin ... Without much effort I can think of a few over the past few years that have erupted in the media. So pray for the priest and the faithful - this trial is far from over. P^3

The Position of the SSPX on Canonizations by the Saint Factory

+ JMJ I have sometimes been criticized for including 'St' as a title for Pope John Paul II et al. I've given my reasons here  in a discussion with Alex Long. The question is one of prudence in discussions with ntCatholics and in some cases with tCatholics. In discussions with:  ntCatholics, I will use the title in order to continue the discussion and help them arrive at a realistic understanding of the crisis of the Church. tCatholics, I will use the title in order to broaden their perspective on the doctrine of dogmatic facts. This broader perspective is, in my opinion, essential maintaining a realistic understanding of the crisis of the Church. So from a doctrinal position, I have written the article Dogmatic Fact of Fancy  and includes a reference on canonizations. Now, I know the position of the SSPX is that the canonizations are doubtful (see references below) and I also know of at least one non-SSPX theologian who agrees with the level of doubt du...

Becoming Traditional Catholic Part V - Staying Traditional Catholic

+ JMJ My post about seeing things as they are  has drawn a fair amount of attention. A quick recap: Part: Outlined the isolation of Traditional Catholics Most non-cradle Traditional Catholics experienced an transitional moment when they realize that they've been tricked / lied to most of their Catholic lives by Popes, Bishops, Priests, Brothers, Nuns and other Catholics. Seeing things as they are.  For example: The Catholic Charismatic movement is anything but (ie it is really a protestant hook that the naive Catholics have inhaled).  Communion in the Hand (as practiced now - not as practiced in some placed early in the life of the Church) is protestant.  That removing the Filioque from the Creed is Schismatic. ... the list goes on. How to help distinguish the Protestant / Schismatic elements that permeate the 'Modern' Catholic Church from the vestiges of Catholicism. - Study! Now the question is how, once one has found Traditional Catholicism, to r...

On Communion in the Hand (Here, Mr. Ed Peters, Is Why Cardinal Sarah is Absolutely Right) - The Remnant

+ JMJ Communion in the Hand is but one facet of this crisis. Just a little definition first ...   i·ro·ny 1 ˈīrənē/ noun the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect. "“Don't go overboard with the gratitude,” he rejoined with heavy irony" synonyms: sarcasm , causticity,  cynicism ,  mockery ,  satire , sardonicism "that note of irony in her voice" a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result. plural noun:  ironies "the irony is that I thought he could help me" synonyms: paradox ,  incongruity , incongruousness "the irony of the situation" a literary technique, originally used in Greek tragedy, by which the full significance of a character's words or actions are clear to the audience or reader although unknown to the character. noun:  dramatic iro...
