Frankenstein's Monster - A Lesson For Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

+ JMJ I had to read Frankenstein in University as part of the course in Critical Reading and Writing ( link ).  In essence, the story is about man inventing something he shouldn't have and then that thing killing him and killing itself afterwards. Nuclear weapons, Computer Technologies, Artificial Intelligence. These are all the inventions of man and they herald opportunities and threats for mankind. Just like the power loom, there is opportunity, pain and suffering with each invention.  It isn't just technology. The USA and the "West" has made its own enemies several time in the past 100 years.  Afghanistan, South America, Africa, Russia - first they train them, equip them ... then they turn on their helpers. Really, the only way to break this cycle is for Russia to convert and the Muslims as well. P^3

Here's an account from Wikipedia: Various claims have been made regarding the events that transpired. Many witnesses reported that after a period of rain, the dark clouds parted, revealing the Sun as an opaque, spinning disc in the sky.
