A Look Back: 2014 - We vigourously protest these canonizations

+ JMJ I sometimes wonder, what's the rush?  Why canonize the post-conciliar Pope's?  Just like the Nobel Peace prize, shouldn't we wait to see the effects of their works and the passage of time to calm the passionate feeling about them? In any case, there are doubts about the canonizations, but ultimately the Magisterium will have to resolve the issue of infallibility of canonizations and the prudence of the acts. Keep in mind that canonizations are not Dogma, nor is the doctrine that states that they are infallible, infallible in an of itself! But while the doctrine stands, it is important to be clear about what the doctrine means.  P^3 Courtesy SSPX.org: We vigourously protest these canonizations In his newest Superior General's Letter, Bishop Fellay explains the double problem behind the canonizations of Popes John XXIII and John Paul II due to take place on April 27th. Letter to Friends and Benefactors no. 82 Dear friends and benefacto

What is the SSPX fighting for?

+ JMJ I've seen star wars and one line uttered by Rose (you probably know which ...) resonated with me: You don't kill what you hate, you save what you love. This line reminded me of the article on Gratitude . Pope Francis and his minions are so aggravating in their hubris   that it is sometimes maddening. The damage they are doing beggars the imagination. Even Non-Trad (nt)Catholics are starting to seriously ask: Is the Pope Catholic? So what's the link to Rose's line? Simple, we can't be bitter, we can't compromise, we know what we are doing - we are saving the priesthood because that is how you save souls. No priesthood, no Church. It is that simple. Corrupt a priest and Satan knows that he gets a bonanza of souls for that investment. That's why ... The Society’s purpose is the priesthood and all that pertains to it and nothing but what concerns it That's why there is such an effort to stamp out the Tridentine Mass , when an

A Look Back: 2014 De. Mattei: Canonizations Not Always Infallible

+ JMJ A quick look back at the canonizations of Popes John XXIII and John Paul  II. Just another part of the mess that will need to be resolved ... This will take decades! P^3 Courtesy SSPX.org: Canonizations not always infallible Prof. de Mattei points out some important factors about the infallibility of canonizations, even demonstrating that this is not even a dogma of the Faith, but rather the opinion of theologians. We are please to feature this  Catholic Family News  interview of Prof. Roberto de Mattei  (author of  The Second Vatican Council: An Unwritten Story ) concerning the canonizations of Popes John Paul II and John XXIII. SSPX.ORG thanks both CFN's editor, Mr. John Vennari, and Prof. de Mattei for allowing us to republish this interview in full. On the proposed April 27 canonizations of Popes John XXIII and John Paul II Note from CFN Editor: We are grateful to Roberto de Mattei, [see bio at end of interview] eminent professor of Church

Amoris Laetitia - The Fruit of Vatican II

+ JMJ I know that others have already stated that Amoris Laetitia is simply a result of the change in theology heralded by Vatican II. However, I have just come across a concrete manifestation of this link. Vatican II called for a revision of the Mass. New Mass embodies the spirit of Vatican II. Scriptures omitted from New Mass include:  ... the passage from the First Letter to the Corinthians (11:27-9) warning against the unworthy reception of communion, which is read on both Maundy Thursday and Corpus Christi in the 1962 Lectionary, but is not found anywhere in the 1969 Lectionary. ( Una Voce Position Paper 15 ) So, for the past 50 years the Church has excluded the lesson concerning unworthy reception of Holy Communion.  In effect erasing the teaching by not preaching or practicing it. Amoris Laetitia is simply an enshrining of the current practice. This was predictable ... I wonder what other practices will be enshrined in 'authentic magisterium'???

Canadian District Superior's Letter - The General Chapter

+ JMJ After the US District Superior, we now have to Canadian District Superior.   Looking forward to the next General Chapter. Pray for the Holy Ghost to provide it with a continued strong leader to will keep the SSPX on the knifes edge for the next 12 years! ... following the Dogmas, Doctrines, Principles and Disciplines of the Catholic Church! P^3 Courtesy of SSPX.ca The General Chapter Dear Friends and Benefactors, At the start of this new liturgical year, allow me to propose a major prayer intention: the General Chapter of the Society of St Pius X which will take place next July 3-21. These General Chapters take place every twelve years in our Society (so this is our fourth one since our foundation in 1970), and it is during these important meetings that we elect (or re-elect) our Superior General and his two assistants. The General Chapter is an examination of conscience, at the level of the whole Society, to see if we live conscientiously according t

US District Superior's Letter - A look back at 2017 - a year of tumult

+ JMJ This year the SSPX District superior offers a look back at a "tumultuous year".  I couldn't agree more as Pope Francis attaches a few more JATO rockets to the Church! P^3 Dear friend of the Society, It was a tumultuous year, filled with great expectations and great confusion. The year began with much talk of the Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX) receiving canonical regularization from Rome. In March, we received the surprise announcement that Pope Francis had taken the steps to remove all doubt concerning the validity of marriages celebrated by priests of the Society. This came at a time when the precise theological and doctrinal understanding of marriage was being challenged by Amoris Laetitia and the subsequent letter of Pope Francis to the Argentine Bishops, a source of great confusion, which prompted some bishops’ conferences to green-light communion for divorced-and-remarried Catholics. The confusion did not end there. So much conf
